OUR STORY

"Be so happy that when others look at you they become happy too."

Entrepreneurial by nature, we specialize in Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service in the areas of Health, Tourism, Real Estate, and Computer Applications. As Health enthusiasts, we promote body, mind, and spirit wellness within a healthy and sustainable environment. Avid outdoor enthusiasts, we chose the Kootenays, and Wasa Lake, because of its natural beauty and proximity to the mountains. Here we hike, mountain bike, swim, sail, waterski, kayak, ski, skate...just to name a few of the things we do!

The perfect place to raise a family, we were extremely fortunate to have raised our four children here. Their love of the outdoors and the Kootenay lifestyle will forever be ingrained in their souls! The Kootenay's has so much to offer. We would love to share our knowledge of the area so that you can appreciate the splendor that we so embrace every day. Extremely fortunate to have a fairy-tale lifestyle and live in one of the prettiest places.

THE AREA

Wasa is nestled between the Rocky Mountains and the Purcell Mountain Range, located on Highway 93/95 in the Kootenay River Valley between Skookumchuck and Fort Steele, 38 km northeast of Kimberley and 25 km north of Cranbrook. Wasa Lake was named by a Finnish settler after his native town of Vasa in Finland and is based around the small Wasa Lake. The village features most tourism amenities and is a growing recreational area. The area offers camping, swimming, hiking, cycling, boating and nature viewing opportunities. There is an 8-kilometer wheelchair and bike accessible trail around the lakeshore and a 2.7-kilometer self-guided interpretation trail. The village has been a family vacation destination since the 1950s and advertises the warmest swimming lake in the Kootenays.

"This is a hidden gem! The location of this home on Wasa lake is out of this world! At any time of the day, it was like a being in a serene world. If you are looking for a secluded, beautiful and relaxing place, this is it. Mary and her family were beyond hospitable. I had the pleasure to meet the entire family (the kids don't live there, but they were visiting) and Mary and James made me feel part of the family. Very grateful for the time I spent there, and I would love to visit again!"

"Mary is a super host! My boyfriend and I stayed at their Cabin for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. The place was easy to find, very clean, they have everything we needed and everything is organized. Recommended place to relax and spend quality time with friends and family while enjoying the beauty of nature. It was better than what we expected. The cabin is located right in front of the lake. We witnessed the sunrise from our room window as well. Also, she is such a sweetheart! when we arrived at the place, I was so surprised because she had a box of chocolate and balloons inside our room for my birthday. She also allowed us to use her kayaks so we were able to explore the entire lake kayaking. Thank you Mary for sharing the beauty of your place. We had a wonderful time and will definitely come back again."

"My family and I (myself, wife, and 1-year-old son) stayed at Mary's place for 2 nights in late May. It was an amazing place and we loved relaxing by the water (there is also great fishing here!). Mary was an amazing host and her hospitality was top notch. The place was very clean and well organized and we really liked the outdoor kitchen! Overall it was an awesome place to stay and my family had a great time. Thanks Mary!"
