Wasa Lake Guest House Policies

To ensure that everyone's experience is equally enjoyable we ask that all guests be respectful of these policies as well as one another while staying with us. Enjoy your stay!

 

Check-in Time: 4-6 pm. By arrangement, another time can easily be accommodated.

Check-out Time: 10 am.

 

Registered Guests will be asked to present government-issued photo identification upon arrival.

 

A minimum security deposit of $500 CAD will be pre-authorized on a credit card prior to arrival. The pre-authorization hold will be released 7 days after check-out.

 

In the unlikely event that the room or common areas are willfully or negligently damaged, the deposit will be withheld in full and applied to all repair and replacements costs. Should the costs exceed the deposit, the full cost will be applied to the pre-authorized credit card. 

 

Reservations:

Reservation requests can be made via email, phone or text.

Booking Guest is required to provide their contact information and names of all guests staying (including children) and the duration of each guest. 

Confirmation will be emailed to Booking Guest (Note: some sites automatically do this).

 

Guests: All guests must sign-in upon arrival and each guest must complete a liability waiver form.

 

Visitors: All visitors must be approved, in advance, by the Innkeeper and will be charged a day-use fee. $15/adult; $10/child. A liability waiver must be signed by all visiting Guests.

Children: It is imperative that children are supervised while participating in any on-site activities. Unsupervised children will result in you being asked to vacate the property with no refund.

 

Guest and Visitor Behaviour: Guests and Visitors are expected to have appropriate behaviour while staying at the Guest House. No foul language, no yelling, no disrespect to owners or to other guests. Failure to comply will be grounds for immediate removal from the property with no refunds.

 

Room Capacity and Amenities:

 

Cabin Rental - one cabin with two separate suites. These suites can be booked together or separately. Sleeps a maximum of 6 guests.

 

The Pine Room has two queen beds and sleeps a maximum of 4 guests (2 adults and up to 2 children).

 

The Tamarack Room has a queen bed and sleeps a maximum of 2 guests.

 

Each room has its own private entrance, deck, and air-conditioner. There is also a private, detached bathhouse, with two full bathrooms (one with steam shower). 

 

Room Rental - one suite with three separate bedrooms. These rooms can be booked together or separately. Sleeps a maximum of 6 guests.

 

The Spruce Suite has a queen bed in each room and sleeps a maximum of 2 guests per room. 

 

There is a shared, six-piece bathroom and sitting area.

 

NOTE: We do not allow overcrowding which means no extra guests sleeping on floors or furniture (exception for babies and toddlers sleeping in portable bed). There is no camping on-site.

Extra Guests: $30/guest/day (+ tax) up to room maximum. All ages (includes babies and toddlers).

 

Amenities: All rooms are provided with bed linens and bathrooms with towels and basic toiletries. We ask that you supply your own beach towels “or” beach towels can be provided for an additional fee.

 

Bed and Breakfast: A paleo-style breakfast is available and must be set-up in advance. An extra charge of $15 per guest per day.

 

Payment: Full payment is due at the time of booking. 

Acceptable forms of payment are Direct Deposit, Email Money Transfer or Credit Card. For those wishing to use a credit card, a processing fee is applicable (3.5%).

Cancellation: Due to our small size and short season, there are no cancellations in our summer season unless we can re-book your time block, less a one-day cancellation fee. Guests are encouraged to purchase Trip Cancellation Insurance. During our shoulder seasons, Spring and Fall, a 14-day cancellation policy will be in place.

 

Pets: Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate guest pets on-site.

 

Smoking: Wasa Lake Guest House is a 100% smoke-free environment. For the enjoyment of all guests, there will be no smoking or vaping on-site. Non-compliance will result in loss of damage deposit and guests will be asked to vacate the property with no accommodation refund.

Alcohol and Drugs: There will be "no" excessive drinking and no drugs. Non-compliance will evoke immediate removal from the property with no accommodation refund.

 

Maid Services: We respect your privacy and will not enter your room during your stay unless specifically requested. If you would like maid services, please speak with the Innkeeper at check-in.

 

Eco-Friendly Laundry Services: We are conscious of our planet's resources and make efforts to conserve energy. Unless requested, towels and sheets will be changed when you leave or for longer stays, as agreed upon.

 

Quiet Times: Out of respect for other guests please maintain a quiet time between 8 am and 10 pm.

 

Beach Kitchen: The outdoor, covered, beach kitchen is a shared facility. It is fully equipped with 2 fridges- 1 large, 1 small; stove, BBQ, microwave, toaster oven, coffee pot, tea kettle, dishes, and cutlery. Guests must keep their ‘dry goods’ in a sealed container such as a tote (available by Innkeeper). 

Not properly stored food will attract insects and animals.

 

NOTE: This is a shared facility so it is the responsibility of each guest to clean up after themselves. This means doing your own dishes after every meal, keeping food safely stored, sweeping, etc. 

Prior to check-out, guests are asked to make certain the kitchen is clean. A cleaning fee of $30 per hour will be deducted from the damage deposit if the Innkeeper has to clean the kitchen on your behalf.

 

Spruce Suite:  A one-time $15 resort fee is applied to each room rental. This fee is waived if booking the entire suite.

Firepit: An outdoor fire pit is available for guest use. Firewood is available for an additional fee.

Kayaks: The ‘red’ kayaks are available for registered guests only and for use on Wasa Lake. No off-site use permitted. Life jackets and paddles will be provided.

 

Hot Tub: Available with advanced notice. An extra charge of $100* per stay.

*Cleaned and filled with fresh water prior to arrival.

 

Parking: We have free, uncovered parking available for one vehicle per room.

If you have more vehicles, boats, trailers, etc. you must inform Innkeeper in advance. 

 

Washer & Dryer: Due to sewer restrictions (property is on a septic system), not available for guest use.

 

TV: Guest rooms do not have televisions.

 

Wi-Fi: Available in most areas on the property.

 

Cleaning Fees: There is a one-time cleaning fee for all room rentals. 

Cabin Rental - $50 per suite and Main House Room Rental - $25 per room.
